Isn’t it funny the names we come up for ourselves!
Shortly after I returned to the Anglican church, after spending a decade in the Pentecostal Church – [Yes, that is an interesting story, but for another time] – I discovered that there were other Spirit-filled disciples of Christ sitting next to me in the pews on Sunday. And they had a variety of names for themselves.
One called themselves an ‘Anglecostal’ and heard of another group who called themselves ‘Charismanglicans’! It made me chuckle – we are indeed an interesting breed, filled with colourful personalities and idiosyncrasies.
Nevertheless, it is not uncommon for like-minded, or like-spirited as the case is, to band together for mutual encouragement and support. That is why we seem to come up with these different names – it lets others know that as we may share a pew or chair with our fellow saints on Sunday, we may worship very differently when we are home, by ourselves.
If you have found a kindred spirit, another ‘ablazing’ Anglican with whom to fellowship and meet for mutual support and refreshing, then that is awesome. But if you are feeling alone, and don’t know where to find someone else who you can talk about the ‘word of knowledge’ or ‘prophetic word’ that heard as you were praying – then that is what this little blog is about. Its a meeting place where you can learn, encourage and become further skilled at ministering in a charismatic manner within your local Anglican church.
